Radiology is changing rapidly. The medical image is becoming more and more easily accessible, more and more precise, and interventional radiology continues to grow. We are involved in all stages of the care journey: screening, diagnosis, therapeutic follow-up, targeted treatments, ethical decisions to stop care, etc. All the technological advances raise questions of a medical nature, but also human and societal.

18 - 19

Lyon Convention Center in Lyon, France

For these 25th Biomedical Engineering Days, the entire team of the Scientific and Organizing Committee is pleased to welcome you to Lyon, city of Lights and former Capital of the Gauls, largely marked by its cultural and gastronomic history. Immersed in the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, a dynamic scientific pool rich in medical innovations, this new edition will be an opportunity to highlight the challenges represented by the transformation of the care pathway and to address the issues that are based on biomedical technologies.

Coordinating and providing the best access to care for each patient can be complex. All healthcare professionals must constantly adapt to demographic, epidemiological and geographic changes. With the development of outpatient care, more personalized care, emphasis on patient comfort and home monitoring, the care pathway is constantly changing. The hospital now finds itself at the heart of an increasingly complex territorial health system. Faced with these developments, how will the medical devices of tomorrow allow them to adapt and develop new approaches?

The biomedical engineer, at the crossroads between medical needs and their devices, will play a key role in supporting changes and defining a new course of care. In a sometimes difficult financial context, his expertise and versatility will be highlighted. During these 25th Biomedical Engineering Days, we will try to address these many subjects through the enriching themes that we will offer you. We want these days to be a privileged moment of meetings, sharing and exchanges around our values and our daily commitment.
